Excellerate Australia is working with industry to establish a co-operative research centre (CRC), the iMOVE CRC (intelligent mobility and vehicle evolution CRC).
This centre will assist industry and the Australian economy to take advantage of the massive productivity gains offered by rapidly evolving technologies in the areas of transport, logistics and connected mobility.
We are pleased to advise that we successfully submitted the first stage bid for iMOVE CRC to the Commonwealth government on 31 March 2016.
The bid has received very strong support from industry, researchers and government departments with the final dimensions of the first stage bid as follows:
• $40,300,000 of participant cash commitments
• 198.40 staff in-kind FTE ($49,600,000)
• $17,100,000 non-staff in-kind commitment
These numbers do not include some companies that are still keen to join so we expect the above figures to increase in a second stage application.
We are excited about our progress to date and will now focus on preparing for the next stage.
