Lithium Australia NL has received an additional grant, securing a second Innovations Connections Grant from the Federal Government to support the commercialisation of its Sileach lithium extraction process.
The $50,000 grant will assist with laboratory scale optimisation being carried out by ANSTO Minerals.
The Sileach process is designed to recover lithium from silicates without the expensive roasting step.
Lithium Australia also reports commencement of pilot plant trials for Sileach at the ANSTO Minerals facility.
The initial pilot testing will provide key data in evaluating the commercial future and value of the Sileach process.
The funding announcement was reported by financial media online and in the West Australian.
