Locally owned and operated B&K Investments NT PTY LTD, trading as NT Electrical Group, has been awarded the contract to deliver The Top End Motocross Club’s track lighting upgrade project.
Member for Brennan and Assistant NT Minister for Sports and Community Events, Tony Sievers, said the awarding of the contract is great news for the motocross community and will create jobs.
“The Territory Government is investing $13 million in infrastructure to support motorsports across the Territory, with $1 million budgeted towards the track lighting upgrade,” he said.
“Motocross, and Motorsports are a popular part of life in the Territory, and the new floodlighting towers will improve participation, as well as increase the quality and safety of night racing at the facility.”
“Congratulations to the NT Electrical Group on their successful tender to deliver the track lighting upgrade project for TEMCC’s Campbell Park MX Complex Facility,” Mr Sievers said.
The contract includes the installation and commissioning of six light towers, including all associated civil construction works, electrical works, and certification.
The Top End Motocross Club holds a number of night racing events throughout the year which require temporary lighting towers to be brought in for every event.
The new and permanent floodlight towers will reduce the time and cost of running these events, as well as increasing the safety and quality of the sport to its 250 members and more than 2,000 spectators annually.
